Hogarths tonal control system allows you to enhance your art works
To date there has not been a way to illuminate art works perfectly
The main problem is that bulbs emit a certain temperature - Incandescent - Tungsten - Halogen etc - no matter what type of bulb is used it will not compliment all of the pigments within an art work or give the same temperature as when the artist created the painting.

Via our small hand held remote it is possible to ::
1 - Illuminate thru every colour temperature from candle to daylight
2 - Individually enhance areas within an art work
3 - Automatically set the correct intensity for Oil paintings - 200 Lumen
4 - Automatically set the correct intensity for Watercolors - 50 Lumen
5 - 8 pre settings by Hogarth to suit most art works :: Portraits :: Landscapes :: Old Masters :: Impressionist :: :: Watercolours :: Still Lifes :: Photos :: Prints
6 - Individually adjust the tonal output - store and set
7 - Dim from - Zero to Maximum
8 - Bulb output is Zero Heat and UV onto the canvas - totally safe for illuminating Fine Art
9 - Adjustment to enhance black & white Photos & Prints
10 - Our system brings faded and old art works to life

Our test art work below is used by us as it has all the problems of illuminating it well -
The Sea is predominantly green - The sky is moody grey, just after a storm still raging to the far left and at the top right there is Blue Sky breaking thru the Creamy White clouds - The Flags have Red stripes - The sails are lit by the Sun breaking thru to the right making them shine with warmth. This art work could not be illuminated well by just one type of bulb - see more below

Hogarths Tonal Remote

Description of operation below

Ultra small remote sends your adjustments to picture light

The art work above illuminated by Incandescent temperature bulbs - certain areas of the art work need adjustment to highlight them - the beautiful Blue Sky top right is cooler than it should be - The Red stripes on the Flags and along the Deck could be enhanced - even if illuminated by Halogen or cooler temperature bulbs there would be pigment areas that would not look as painted by the artist due to the single colour of bulb

Example - A Red Ferrari sports car will look Red in Sunshine - Park the car in a garage with Halogen bulbs and the Red colour will look different - View the car in a Showroom illuminated by Tungsten bulbs and the Red will look different again. There are ways to measure the ability of how a bulb changes the colour of an object or the pigments in an art work - known as Colour Rendition (C R I - Colour Rendition Index) To help with understanding some of the references with our system - Noon daylight is measured to be around 5500K (Kelvin) and is classed as being quite a white source of light - A Candle will give off a very warm light at around 2000K - An Incandescent filament bulb is cooler than a candle at 2600K and Halogen bulbs are cooler still at 3500K with Fluorescent bulbs at 4500K

So using either - incandescent - halogen - fluorescent light sources, the colours in a painitng will look different
depending on which one you use - with our new system it is possible to illuminate these problems.

Close up of at work illuminated by one of our pre set temperatures - the art work is more vibrant

Part of Blue Sky with tonal adjustment to make the Blue look as painted by the artist - The background is the art work illuminated with Tungsten (Incandescent) temperature bulbs where the Blue looks washed away

Increasing the warmer tonal temperatures so that the Reds in the art work start to come alive

Every aspect of the art work is improved

These details are more prominent

Subtle almost unseen details are more visible

Layer upon layer of brushstrokes are more visible.

The long journey of the humble Picture Light has at last come into its own - Hogarth has perfected the illumination to ensure that art works are now viewed in the same light and vibrancy as captured by the artist

As with all our Picture Lights there is no Heat or UV onto the canvas - total safety of illumination and with our pre set intensity levels (which can be exceeded if you wish) your art is now totally safe from any long term damage.

If you own valuable art works the investment in our tonal control system is as good as the investment in your art

Only available with our Classic Picture Light.
